Battlefield 2142 : northern strike (2007)

Whilst I\'m still not completely sold on the idea of booster packs, they do have the habit of fragmenting communities; their price should most definitely not be a barrier. At just Â£5.99 it\'s more or less impossible to say that Northern Strike isn\'t at least reasonable value. Three new maps, a new game mode, two new vehicles and a bunch of new un-locks and awards for about the price of a cinema ticket can\'t really be sniffed at; I know I\'ve already had more than a couple of hours of enjoyment out of it. Northern Strike can be quite easily summed up as three wonderfully crafted maps that are a bit on the large side for my liking, with a new game mode which certainly has the potential to be great fun on the right map; I don\'t feel any of the included three are that map though. They do however suit the two new vehicles quite well and that was perhaps the point. I always have and always will prefer infantry combat and that\'s why Northern Strike doesn\'t quite push all of my buttons, I\'m glad I bought it though and would recommend it to any Battlefield 2142 fan. Make no mistake: Warcraft III is a real-time strategy game. Originally announced back in 1999 as a hybrid strategic role-playing game, over the course of its development, Warcraft III shed many of its role-playing pretensions and became what by all means is a true sequel to its predecessor. The game relies on many of the real-time strategy conventions you're probably familiar with by now. The goal of a typical skirmish is to start gathering resources (gold and wood), build up a base, build up a force of various units, and use that force to destroy the enemy's base and to repel any attacks against your position. You control the action primarily with a mouse by clicking on individual units and buildings or dragging boxes around groups of them, and you can also use predefined keyboard hotkeys to quickly perform some actions. So Warcraft III doesn't reinvent the wheel.

Worms Blast takes place on water which is lucky really as your character only has a boat to get around in. Above you, coloured blocks move closer to you every so often. Fortunately you can shoot the blocks to destroy them, however your weapon is colour coded and you must hit blocks of the same colour as your weapon to destroy them. Hitting a block of different colour from that of your weapon will recolour it (and the surrounding blocks) to the weapon's colour. If you destroy a block, blocks of the same colour touching the destroyed block will also be destroyed.
